what are telecommunications?

Imagen
Telecommunications is the remote transmission of information data through electronic and/or technological means. The information data is transported to the telecommunications circuits by means of electrical signals. What we use in our day to day such as television, computers, our mobile devices are some of the most common examples that are used as receivers of information in the field of telecommunications. So to answer what telecommunications are, we must know that it is about the interaction of information between distances, and they refer to all types of either voice, data or video transmission. In fact, the concept of telecommunications encompasses a series of transmission technologies such as those mentioned above, although there are many others such as satellites, fiber optics, etc. Throughout this post we are going to delve into what telecommunications are among other issues among others. What is coaxial cable?

Imagen
Carrying signals from one device to another for decades, and coaxial cable was created in the 1930s to transport radio frequency signals, which are the ones that go from an antenna to receivers. Cables that have two conductors on the same axis are called coaxial. These two conductors are, on the one hand, an outer cylinder that is a braided metal mesh (B) that serves as a return conductor and shielding of the interior, stabilizing its electrical parameters. In the center of the cable there is a copper core (D) which is the second conductor, the most important, and it is the one that carries the information. Between the two there is a thick insulating layer (C) that separates them, and on the outside another insulating layer (A) like that of other cables. according to page  https://www.xataka.com/basics/cable-coaxial-que-sirve-tipos-cual-elegir

What is fiber optics

Imagen
fiber optics is a means of transmitting data by means of photoelectric impulses through a thread made of transparent glass or other plastic materials with the same functionality. These threads can be almost as fine as a hair, and they are precisely the means of transmission of the signal. Basically, through these very fine cables, a light signal is transferred from one end of the cable to the other. This light can be generated by a laser or an LED, and its most widespread use is to transport data over long distances, since this medium has a much greater bandwidth than metallic cables, lower losses and higher transmission speeds. What is a mini-node?

Imagen
Optical mini-node that serves as a bridge between coaxial technology and optical networks. It transforms the optical signal (1550nm) from the main network into a coaxial signal (105-1220 MHz) that travels to the user modem. It also transforms the signal from the coaxial modem (5-85MHz) into an optical signal for the operator's headend, thanks to the return channel transmitter in the 1610nm window, with 3dBm of optical power. It uses a single fiber for the forward and return channel. It is ideal in installations that use the DOCSIS protocol for bidirectional data distribution and the DVB-C standard for television signals. Incorporates OLC technology. Ideal for RF Overlay, FTTB and FTTH applications.
